The Hughes
Greenan Views
Take a tour inside a stunning three bedroom show home with a unique appeal. The Hughes exudes character from the word go, with an amazing window in the hallway spanning over two floors that will definitely be a conversation piece for guests, before you reach the spacious lounge with patio doors to the back garden. The sophisticated décor throughout complements the architecture to a tee, creating a family home to be proud of.
As you enter the Hughes, you are faced with a well designed. The hallway is open plan and extends outwards into the kitchen and dining area on one side, while the other side has the staircase leading to the upper floor, and the corridor in the centre leads you to the lounge retreated towards the rear of the home. The flooring chosen exemplifies the space, running down the length of the hall right through the lounge and kitchen areas for a free flowing look. Meanwhile, there is a large industrial black mirror reminiscent of a naval steering wheel occupying the wall space. If you like to showcase art or family photos on your wall, this hallway gives you so much opportunity to do so with its canvas like walls.
Turning our attention to the dining area, the design here creates a restaurant booth like feel, with some comfortable cushioned seating spanning the circumference of the round table. The greyscale tones are broken up with a large green artificial plant placed in the centre of the table, adding that necessary pop of colour to bring it to life. And the area is well lit with a full height window next to the table providing views out to the front of the property.
Then we have the kitchen, laid out in a U-shape. The first noticeable feature is the sheer abundance of both worktop and storage space, with two walls of both wall and floor units, and a third wall with only floor units and a large window stretching the length of the counter tops, with the sink framed below. The units are German built with soft close drawers, white in colour with minimal handles, and paired with a black splashback that wraps around two walls, illuminated by the under unit down lighting – all coming together to create the finished article. There are also integrated appliances galore, with an Electrolux induction hob and integrated oven, as well as fridge freezer and dishwasher.
Next, we have the lounge, which is situated at the back of the property. The oak effect door with glass panelling provides a classy entrance into a glamourous room. The matching loveseat and armchair are inviting, while the large console has stylish lamps sitting like pillars at either side. A lavish full height curtain hangs to one side of the grand patio doors, which pour light into the room and provide access to the garden, which has been landscaped with a wooden decking area. It’s a place that lends itself effortlessly to relaxing and having fun with loved ones.
The last room on the ground floor is a boldly decorated W.C. which is great for guests. The lower portion of the walls are decorated with black tiles and white grout, stopping halfway up with a chrome trim. Then the upper portion of the walls and ceiling are wallpapered with a funky black and white geometric pattern. The white sanitaryware really pops against the black background, and the overall look makes this bathroom a quirky little ‘Easter egg’ tucked snugly and efficiently under the stairs.
Ascending the staircase, the landing provides arguably the best view of the feature window in the hall from the interior, with its scale being easy to appreciate from a step backwards. The upstairs hallway leads on into the three bedrooms and family bathroom.
The largest of the three bedrooms has a monotone colour scheme brought to life with pattern work. The feature wall adds depth to the room while the carpet on close inspection has black and white lines running through it. The lighting also creates a warm feel, with a bedside lamp on each table, and some scented candles dotted around.
The next bedroom has a fitted mirror wardrobe with sliding doors, as well as a double bed with a nice giant headboard and an ottoman at the foot of the bed. The wallpaper is another original pick, with the squiggles forming abstract faces within the patterns. The soft grey on white pattern ensures a little bit of subtlety so as not to be too overpowering, creating just the right balance of something unusual, yet pleasurable. Finally, there is one more bedroom, ideal for a single bed. We have chosen to showcase this room as a potential home office or dressing room.
You also have a family bathroom on the upper floor with a shower over the bath, and a towel warmer. There is a bright window that makes the room feel airy, and the white marble tiling on the floor and walls gives a professional finish.
Overall, some subtle yet eye catching features throughout this whole home make the Hughes one to remember. Most importantly, it functions as a spacious family home and can adapt to meet individual needs.
